Where the name comes from.

DZÔ comes from the old Fribourg patois, the Franco-Provençal dialect of the Gruyère valleys, where it is a playful nickname for the people of Fribourg. The mascot carries it as a tribute to the city where 987NES was born, on October 16, 2025.

What DZÔ looks like.

DZÔ is a round blue monster with angry eyes and a wide mouth full of sharp teeth. “NineEightSeven” is written across his head and “987 NES” on his belly. He doesn't smile. He shows teeth. Not out of anger. Out of knowledge.

In the 987NES artworks he devours recycled memecoins, plants the Swiss flag above Fribourg, works on an on-chain machine and tears up memecoin bullshit.

The market fed the monster. Fribourg gave it teeth.

What DZÔ stands for.

In a memecoin market full of recycled dogs and frogs, DZÔ is an original character created for 987NES: immediately identifiable, impossible to confuse. Not recycled. Not a frog. Not a dog. Not a clown.

He embodies the project's line: execution over promise, 0% tax, locked liquidity, public wallets and a doxxed team.

DZO-isation.

Since September 2026, DZÔ also takes on famous names. Same monster, different identity: if the name fits, DZO becomes it.

  • Dizocoin (DZO): a BNB Chain token that uses the DZO ticker. Unrelated to 987NES.
  • The dzo: a hybrid of yak and domestic cattle, raised in the Himalayas.

The only official 987NES token is NineEightSeven ($NES) on Solana. Always check the contract address before buying: fake tokens copy names and tickers.
